• What is Sharefiles?

    Sharefiles is an easy to use application that allows you to:

    • Transfer files within Getronics
    • Transfer files from Getronics to the outside world or vice versa.

    The main features are:

    • Developed with .NET 4 framework and HTML5.
    • Compatible with browser that support HTML5. (IE8+,Chrome 18+,Firefox 11+,Safari 5.1+, Opera 11.61+)
    • Sharefiles uses the HTTPS communication protocol.
    • Allows multiple file uploads. (Maximum file size is 1GB)
    • Uploaded file retention/availability can be set from 1 to 30 days. (on expiry file will be deleted)
    • Allows sending to multiple recipients. (one email per line)
    • When submitting the file for upload, the action generates emails to all recipients with unique links per line.
    • The recipients email address is used to generate a Guest account and password, distributed with the email.
    • All uploaded files are scanned for malware. Any positive detection will result in the file being deleted.
  • How do I use Sharefiles?

    There is a difference between transferring files between Getronics employees and Guest Clients & Partners. Each Guest client & Partner wishing to use Sharefiles must be sponsored by a Getronics employee.

    Transferring a file within Getronics and to Clients & Partners

    To transfer files you must first upload the file. From the Sharefiles homepage
    • Select the red “upload” icon.
    • Click the “Select File” icon to upload. (This will open a browse window)
    • Select the file to upload. The browse window will close and a progress bar will open showing upload progress.
    • Select the “Files expire in” and choose number of days in which the file will expire.(when it will be deleted)
    • Select “Invite people” and enter the email address of recipient. (one email address per line)
    • Select“please insert email content” for any subject message for the recipient.
    • Select the “submit” icon and you will see the message “The files were uploaded successfully! The invited people will receive an email with the download instructions.”
    • The email contains the list of files and credentials to log in on website. Users can download the files directly from email by clicking on file name.
    • The green "My Files" icon shows the status of your current files.

    Transferring a file from Clients & Partners over the Internet to Getronics

    In order to be able to transfer files to Getronics you need to be registered with Sharefiles via a Getronics employee sponsor.

    • Go to the Sharefiles website. https://sharefiles.getranet.net
    • Select the “Guest Account Request” A registration form will open.
    • Complete the registration form, and select the “Submit” icon. A green pop up bar will indicate your request has been forwarded via email to the mailbox of the Getronics contact that you entered, for approval)
    • The Getronics Contact will either approve or decline the request.
    • If approved you will receive an email, providing you with an Account Username available 1 day, password and link to the website.
